One
day Sakuya went out to go stab people. When she went outside, she met
Yuyuko. Yuyuko said, “Sakuya, you are a dumpling!” And then
Sakuya was dumpling. Yuyuko was overjoyed by this site and ate
Sakuya. As she was celebrating her victory, she wondered, “Why is
Youmu crying in agony over BreadGod's shitty fiction writing skills?”
As it turned out, Yukari was watching them all, and she was
masturbating to them because she is a pedophile! RAAAAAAAAARRRGH! And
then, everyone died. I decided to write up this asinine story because
I'm running out of ideas for intros and I'm desperate to pad it out.
Anyway, today I shall review the latest album from Aetherium Mors,
Drenched In Victorious Blood, which was provided to me by the band
itself.
Aetherium
Mors play melodic blackened death metal that is vigorous and
infectious. The drums pound into your skull like an infernal
jackhammer, the double bass drills away with machine-like efficiency.
The bass is rather high in the mix and gives the music a nice hint of
groove. The vocals consist of a rasped growl that sort of reminds me
of Heartwork-era Carcass. The Carcass influence is most obvious on
songs like “The Fall Of God”.
However,
the best element on here is the guitars. They frequently switch
between black metal tremolo picking, melodic death metal shredding,
and pure death metal chugging. What really caught my ear were the
solos. Since their music is more melodic than most, it's obvious that
they were going to include lots of solos, but what they've done here
is incredible. They soar to the skies and invigorate the spirit. Some
of them even remind me of Capharnaum (“Order Of The Talion”) and
Vital Remains (“Sons Of Men”).
Drenched
In Victorious Blood is absolutely amazing. It's a perfect fusion of
viciousness and melody with some awesome solos. Also, on the first
song, there was this one part where it sounded like the frontman was
saying “Kill all the hippies.” I agree. We should kill all the
hippies.
Hippies are ok, its the chavs that need a good cull, and don't get me started on those plimsoll wearing cunts with skinny jeans who mope about with their hair on one side of their sadly unpunched faces. Great album. Buy it or dip the fuck out.
